Dr. Olive Okraku takes a holistic approach that explores the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of who you are. This biopsychosocial model of practice recognizes that all these aspects are linked and we can’t effectively address one without considering the others.

She works with adults, families, adolescents, and children — as individuals, couples, or families, within clinical, health, community, counselling, and school psychology specialties. She has specialized training in approaches that reduce distress and improve the lives of her clients (e.g. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy — CBT; Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing-EMDR; Prolonged Exposure Therapy-PE...) and more.

Dr. Olive Okraku is a Registered Psychologist with several years of extensive clinical experience. Her education and training specialize in clinical and counselling psychology. She also has experience in teaching and research. She currently works for the Department of National Defence, providing psychological assessment and treatment to members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

She provides services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families within clinical, counselling, health, community, and school psychology specialties.

Her interest is in child and adult psychopathology, PTSD/trauma, depressive and bipolar disorders, chronic illness and health issues, anxiety, stress/lifestyle-related issues, couples therapy, inter-faith relationships, women issues, parenting consults, spirituality, and multi and cross-cultural issues.

She takes a holistic approach that explores the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of individuals. This biopsychosocial(s) model of practice recognizes that all these aspects are linked and we can’t effectively address one without considering the others. She also takes a collaborative and strength-based approach to working with people. She utilizes evidence-based treatments including Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).

Mental health services should be available and accessible to all and she works with people spanning generational, cultural, spiritual, racial, gender, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
